canon.... sigma 70-200 question..??

ive been looking at these since i cant afford a canon L version.

firstly how do they compare to the canon equivelent?

also there seem to be lots of different versions of the sigma, does anyone know what these are and is there any difference optically between them?

any help apreciated!!

I've had a sigma 70-200 f2.8 dg hsm, canon 70-200 f4 and canon 70-200 f2.8is
I'd take the canon f4 everytime over the sigma.
But IMHO the f2.8is is stunning!!
I'd keep saving

Unless you know you will need the F2.8 buy the canon 70-200mm F4. It is lighter, sharper and has quicker AF than the sigma.

I borrowed a Canon 70-200 F4 and loved it. In process of selling my 400D and lenses and saving for a new body, kit lens and 70-200 F4 off the back of borrowing one.
