Canon speedlite not firing

I have a Canon speedlite, the batteries are charged, yesterday it fired with my Canon RP. Today I have tried it with two different cameras and does not fire.
Any ideas how to fix this? I have google without success.

Presumably the other bodies have the ss set to an appropriate speed. Does the gun still fire when on RP?

Does it fire in test mode?

Weirdly it is now working - very strange - thanks for the help everyone.

Any chance it wasn't pushed all the way into the hotshoe?

I did try many times without success earlier so I am not sure.

it could also be down to the setting of the camera, with the mirrorless I found you cannot use the flash with the electronic shutter talked to someone from Canon UK at https://imaging.chat and they went through it with me, if you need any other help I would defiantly Recommend them
