Yes
Decided to get myself a new compact and it's been a while since I was clued up in this department.

Anyway - the two models I've looked into are the Canon SX280 HS v Panasonic TZ40 but I'm open to other suggestions.

Before anybody asks - it really is just a case of shoving in the pocket and taking a right old mix bag. I'm not bothered about RAW, I'd like the zoom, ISO is semi important, AF more so, build is important.

Anyway - all help and advice welcome.

PS

This came about because I hardly use my iphone for anything other than pictures so I've upgraded with a view to giving her the new phone so I can get a camera.

I also looked at the Canon SX280 but read up on too many negatives about it. I instead opted for the Panasonic TZ35, as It was going for a really good price in Currys, I even got a spare battery thrown in with the deal, it worked out cheaper than I could have got from ebay! The Panasonic may not be the best photo quality, but the video quality is very good, as is the zoom range.

As Minnnt ( David) has already said, there are threads running about Compact Camera's like Panasonic Canon Fujifilm etc etc. The threads are from about a week or two ago, so are still current.
