Canon UK warranty - transferable?

I'm about to buy a used 5D Mark II, it was bought in the UK, has 5 months warranty remaining, the seller registered the warranty with Canon UK when it was new and will give me the purchase receipt.

I assume the warranty is transferable into my name - can anyone confirm this?

Warranties aren't normally transferable. I can't see this being any different.

Whether or not Canon actually check that the recipt is the same name as the person mailing in the broken item is a good question - I suspect they don't from what I've seen!
