What options are there for a canon EF fit UWA lens 24mm and under? And what is generally regarded as the sharpest, best quality lens.

A fast prime is preferable but not absolutely essential..

I am fully aware of the canon 24 f1.4L but I was wondering what else is out there. I have done a Google search but that does not account for personal preference and/or experience..

So I throw this open for your views and experience..

All currently available Canon lenses are listed here, and price is very indicative of quality and the obvious 'L' classifications bare the normal qualities.

Some fine detail about the current line up. http://www.usa.canon.com/app/pdf/lens/Lens_Extender_chart_new.pdf

you will need to indicate some kind of price bracket that you are looking at to give us and idea as they range from £300 - £1600.

Assuming you don't want fisheye, you've got the 20mm f/2.8 and 14mm f/2.8 L for primes.

Or for zooms, the 17-40mm f/4 L and 16-35mm f/2.8 L.

Speraking personally, I wouldn't look further than the 17-40L on a 5D. Excellent lens, and low f/numbers are generally less useful with wide-angles. I guess that's maybe subjective though.
