As a recent Canon convert I am quite enjoying my new toy. To be hones there are few features I miss from my previous Pentax K-5 but that's not a big deal. However one thing bugs me a bit more, it seems my Canon never pick the auto white balance in artificial light properly. I always have to set it manually (which is not that clever implemented as Pentax was) or have to shoot RAW and correct it in post-processing. Is that normal for Canon?
 
To me its normal to ajust it in pp, WB or what looks right to one person may not look right to another .

Agree some slight variation of WB might be a matter of personal taste. However I am talking about way off anything, which can be considered as normal. And sometimes I'd like to shoot in jpg, which makes manual setting of WB every time a bit of a burden.

But anyway, not a big deal. I was just wondering if most Canons are like that, because K-5 was better on that respect.

I'm a fairly recent convert from Nikon to Canon and I've found the same thing. Outdoors the 5D MkIII can be relied on to nail the WB perfectly most of the time but indoors under artificial light I find it goes for an overly warm WB that needs quite a bit of adjusting in PP to get it right. I don't remember my Nikon D700 needing quite so much adjustment but I'd never want to go back to it.
