Yes
long day and head needs a recharge.

on a budget here.
around £1000 for the Canon, £1200 for the Sigma.
Cant afford the £2000 ish for the canon IS.:'(
so what would you do.
Wedding work, so would favour the IS but is the Sigma with IS (OS as described by Siggy) better than the canon , non IS?

there is no 24-70 IS is there for canon?

arrrgh stop changing your thread! :)

I have had a non IS Siggy, its was a cracking lens and i am sure the new totally redesigned one is gonig to be better and with IS. I cant see it being a bad buy. Maybe wait for a review or 2 to hit the web and see how it compares to the canon MKII's or even the MkI's!

Would you consider second hand?

If so then I would expect the MkI Canon 70-200 f/2.8IS to be an option for your budget. It may even be that Kerso can still supply a brand new MkI for that sort of budget

I believe Kerso can supply Sigma lenses but you wouldn't get the 3 year warranty a UK sourced Sigma EX lens should have. No difference in the warranties between the Canon lenses he supplies and the ones from Jessops/WEX etc :)
