Canon's DPP 4 and EOS utility 3 now released...but only for recent FF cameras

Canon Australia have on their website the new versions of the above software, but only for 1 Dx, 1Dc, 6D and 5D3 models.

That's because they're discontinuing all other models.

Not

I thought I'd get in with that before all the other idiots.

I suppose their is always the title of first idiot to be had

Hey, it's totally different at first look, hmmm....

Well, as it requires you to enter a serial number for one of the listed cameras, I can't even download it. I guess that means my 5DMkII is now considered too old for Canon to bother with :(

I entered the serial for my 650D and downloaded it, I'll install it on my 64 bit machine tomorrow and give it a go.

Hmm, interesting, let's see how we all get on, looks a good upgrade to me but why limit it?

Had a little play with it, I like the new look, the features are similar to the old version and easy to get to grips with, it won't open my RAW files but that's probably to be expected as my camera is not one of those listed, so fairly useless to me, I hope they transfer the new look to a version for my camera.
