Hi,

Can't get my new D5000 to do bracketing. There's nothing special about it, reading the manual, so can't figure out why it doesn't do it. I've setbracketing to AE 0.7 in the shooting menu, and have tried modes P and A. Just takes one photo...

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

I don't know about the D5000 but with the D300S I have to press the shutter the number of shots in the bracketed sequence. So if I want normal exposure and then 1 stop above and 1 stop below, I have to press the shutter 3 times.

Unless the D5000 takes the number of bracketed shots from one shutter press, then you will have to press the shutter multiple times.

Reading the manual, its not very clear, but, seems to assume you take three shots . . . press the shutter three times  It then reverts back to normal shoot mode.

Either press the shutter three times, or if you set the camera to continuous shooting just hold it down for three shots

Just a follow-up, I only just realised yesterday that in continuous mode with aperture bracketing set, holding the shutter will shoot three shots exactly and stop. A bit more useful.

Thanks
