cant get the 800th sec to stay when flash on

Hi after seeing the "I got an A" thread I wanted to try and get the same shot but when i put the flash on i can only get it to 250th sec

using the d700 and SB-800

I think you need to actually turn on the high speed sync custom function on the flash if it has it ..you may have to do it on the camera as well...it'll be in the manual if it's possible
