Beginner Capture One Express – Importing Metadata (Tags)

Newbie here...

I started using Cyberlink PhotoDirector as my image asset manager, and obviosuly put in a lot of time tagging all photos I've taken. However, I want to move to Fujifilm's Capture One Express.

Does anyone know if there's a way of moving the PD catalogue to C1E whilst ensuring the tag metadata is imported too as I really don't fancy re-tagging a couple thousand photos again.
 
Can PhotoDirector create XMP sidecar files? This is the "normal" way of exchanging metadata (ie tags) between programs.

As far as I am aware C1 will only directly import Lightroom and Media Pro catalogues.
