Car Rig Equipment

hi mate, there are a few options for buying the full kit. Most are very expensive though!

If you want to buy everything especially for doing car rig shots then I would contact this lad...

he is based in America and posts all over the world. It is not cheap but if I had the money this is what I would be using!

You can contact him for custom quotes :)

hope that helps.

Sammy

P.S making one is really not that hard and costs a fraction of the price!

I ended up buying a "proper" one, came with manfrotto suction pads (3 of them), a load of poles at different lengths, a few superclamps. cost me £350...

just need to shoot some cars so it pays for itself now! :)

I know I could have done it myself for probably just over £200 if I had the manfrottos and superclamps myself, but it all fits perfectly and I cant fault it tbh.

The manfrotto suction pads - definitely a good idea. I know people use the B&W £5 pads as opposed to the £50+ manfrotto one's but you know the manfrotto ones are working well and still have suction as they have a red-safety-line so you know when its not suckered properly.

I have got another post somewhere with the example, but I'll put them here again.

This was literally the first goes of the rig. The drove the car, I should have pushed it to get it sharper but the effect comes out really well.

Now I just have to charge for photoshoots to earn the money back! lol

The hardest bit, is cloning out the equipment. I didnt do a very good job on any of the images I took as Im not PS proficient yet, but Im getting there slowly. Hopefully....

Nice pics :)

Just got the poles ordered - me and a mate are sharing the cost and doing it together so makes it a bit more affordable.

What focal length lens have you got and are you using it on a crop body? I've got a 1D Mk3 which I think is a 1.3 crop and the lowest focal length is 17mm on a kit lens, otherwise I've got a 24-105L - I'm thinking I'm going to need a wide lens.

How big is your pole if you don't mind me asking!!!!

Dave

The long pole isnt <that> long to be honest, but there are extensions with it. I think its more of using a bit of imagination and you'll get the shots you want.

The shots above were taken with a 11-16mm Tokina UWL
My camera, a lowly canon 600d.
I think the kit lens should be fine :)

Cant wait for the weather to improve - had one day of using it and its been in the cupboard since :( :(

Get some photos up when you get it pal! :)
