My darling wife has bought me all the bits i need for a car rig for my birthday. After a few failed attempts at making my own, i think she took pity on me:lol:
It should be delivered tomorrow, i am going to see someone tomorrow to fabricate the extending pole for me. I cant wait!!!!! Really looking forward to having a go at this. I already have a few nice cars lined up to practice on.
Just thought id share the joy.

Cheers Guys,
She bought me
2 x Manfrotto suction cups
3 x Manfrotto super clamps
1 x spigot -1/4" whitworth adapter to screw ball head into.
Ill put picture up later.
Dean:)

I just (well last night) order pretty much the same kit :D And a manfrotto ball head.

I also bought an aerial mast from screwfix, which is 2x1.5m long. Need to test this and see how well it works. Looks sturdy, but does not seem to break down too well.

My sigma 10-20 also arrived this morning :)

I'm toying with the idea of:

Ill probably order a magic arm next week, just to get the camera lower to the ground.
For all the kit i got, it cost £145.
The pole, im getting from a firm near me, bung them a £20. 4 x 4ft sections, 2" diameter with an internal ridge that with strengthen it. Thats a total of £165. It will be more when i add the magic arm on, but at the moment, my uniloc tripod has one on, so i can play with that.
I have to admit, i had made my own rig using the usual glass lifters etc,and hated it when others knocked the idea, but since getting my hands on this new kit, i can see exactly why they recommend it.
I got mine from KARLU PHOTOGRAPHIC, next day delivery.

Very interested to see the pole. Where did you get it from?

Theres a company over the way from me that manufactures roller blinds, They have extruded alloy poles that are used for rolling the blind around.
Little cash offer, woy oi!!
Hopefully it will all happen and work well.

Holy thread revival!!!!!!!
Wayne, i got caught up in all my aviation work last summer, so didnt get to have a real play. Then the weather hit rock bottom.
I still have the rig, and in the next few weeks, im hoping to give it a good go.
