Carbon Fibre Tripod advice

Would a 5 section CF tripod with a max leg diameter of 25mm be as strong and have no movement, im hoping it would be as stable as a redsnapper alloy tripod which had a max leg dia of 32mm

Five sections is going to be more flexible than three or four, and a larger diameter is always going to be more structurally rigid.

As a 'travel' tripod the section is a good size but for rigidity I would be concerned about 5 sections and a centre column.

It would only get used as a travel tripod so im looking at strength v weight

Benro C1691 clone? Hell no, nowhere near as sturdy as a Redsnapper. I bought one on here and sold it within an hour of it arriving.

I had the Redsnapper RS-324 and it was solid as a rock but too heavy

The more sections the more fiddly they are to set up.

That's one of the many copies of the Gitzo Traveller.

The Gitzo is very stable - even the sections the thickness of a pencil don't bend an awful lot. It's also very expensive. I honestly think in this case those 2 things are linked. Cheap CF tends to be a lot more bendy than expensive CF.
