I looked at this one and it looked a bit flimsy, very well finished though
its probably suited to lighter equipment

Hold off for a few weeks and go to Focus on Imaging. Manfrotto usually have a big stand there and staff to answer queries, and retailers like Speedgraphic sometimes have special deals at the show

I don't really want a 4 section as I think 3 sections are more rigid. When and where is Focus on Imaging?

NEC Birmingham Ken. Starts on Sunday 4th March and finishes on Wednesday.

Giottos had a good display as well as Manfrotto last year.

Surprising that isn't actually the case.

Hi Ken

Last time I went to Focus, Manfrotto had a very large stand with lots of different tripods and heads on show that you could look at / play with etc.

Around £300 and the heaviest setup is the Sigma 120-300 f28 OS with a 2X

Which I like because it's light and compact, it does me fine but the heaviest I put on it is my 7D plus my 70-300L. No stability issues with it but I'm a fair weather tog who doesn't go up nasty windy hills with it.

I've recently bought the new generation of the Benro CF travel tripods - the C2682 with the B1 head, terrific piece of kit, supports 12kg, folds up nice and compact, nice and light to carry around when hiking and great quality too - I can't fault it
