I figured this was the right place to post it as I don't intend on meeting anyone there, trying to meet one photographer out of 400+ photographers is just a bit of a mission
Has anyone done it before? I bought my ticket last night, £15! It does include free public transport anywhere in Cardiff though.
It's a pretty cool idea, basically, anyone who doesn't know what it is:
It starts at a certain place where the judges scan your camera and your memory card and make sure it's all okay. When it's on, you have to go to the first place in Cardiff to collect your first 3 themes. You then have 4 hours to prance about taking photos for those themes (they have to be in order!). You then go to the next place to collect the next themes, and so on.
There are 12 themes in total and once you're done the judges scan your memory card and off you trot.
The only downside in my opinion is that you're not allowed to use anything other than JPEG and you have to give them your photos unprocessed, and you're not allowed more than 12 images on the card. It makes sense for their purposes but I dunno, I just feel a bit cheated that at the end of the day I won't be able to come home and process OTHER photos that I took that I liked, but weren't relevant to the competition. I suppose I'll just take a few spare memory cards
So, anyone going?
