Carl Zeiss - Distagon paint-wear

CZ 35mm 1.4 distagon ZE

I've had this lens a couple of years, the paint on the focussing ring is worn at the peaks of ridges of the grip, in some places.

Is this typical wear and tear?

Thanks, I'll do that in a few hours when I'm home.

Pretty normal wear and tear with these lenses. I had Leica lenses and Zeiss lenses both do the same.

It is typical Dan. I've got 12 Zeiss ZE's and I can judge their usage by the paint wear.

Well if it's normal, as others say, it'll just happen again.

I'd still take that lens if there was no paint on it at all

Came to think about it last night after going to bed...

Is it "just" paint? Worn off by use and not by poor storage? And is the ring aluminium?
If it's alu, then you *could* have it black anodized... much harder and will not wear off...
