Carl Zeiss Sonnar 135mm f/3.5 manual focus test

My £60 eBay Carl Zeiss Sonnar 135mm f/3.5 manual focus lens arrived on the weekend and was disappointed to find the aperture blades stuck wide open. I opened the lens up and cleaned everything properly and got the iris to work smoothly again.

Since I'm still waiting for the M42 mount to EOS adapter to arrive, I decided to see what would happen if I just held the lens against the lens mount on my 5D and fire off some shots... here's the results Absolutely no sharpening or NR - no processing at all except slight white balancing.

The Zeiss 135mm manual lens is a fine bit of kit! I have seen very good results using this lens and I did have one once but never used it much.

Its looking good. it would hace been good if you wrote a How to guide for reapiring the lens!
