Im looking for a carrying solution for the above combo. When I had the sigma 150-500 I would carry it around by a strap attached to the tripod foot.

I'm looking for a solution that I will have quick access to the camera whilst out birding. There isn't a place on the tripod foot to attach a strap. Is there a connector I can use to attach a strap or is a top loader the best option.

Thanks Gerard.

In the black rapid video for the R-t1 It replaces the original locking screw on the manfrotto Rc-2. Would the original manfrotto screw not suffice for attachment to a strap.

Gerard.

Don't connect any strap to the original manfrotto screw loop, it's just a piece of bent metal wire that's held in place by tension. It will easily break away if too much pressure is put on it. Manfrotto do warn you not to use it to connect straps.

I use either the T1 connector or the black rapid replacement rc2 screw connector with my rs7 strap. It makes carrying a gripped d7000, 300mm f4 and 1.4tc so much easier over longer distances.
