Dear all, any experience with the 35/1.8 CAs? I made some tests with close up lenses. I was disappointed in the high CAs( A 16 !) at the corners. Than I removed the close up lenses: same result!
However, the old MINOLTA achromates worked well . I got 1:2.8 combining No. 1 (+ 2) and No. 2 (+3.8) instead of 1:5.4 ... without a significant increase of CAs! Result in my homepage.
Do you have similar experience with the high CAs of the 35/1.8. Thanks and BR JV

Yep, the 35mm f/1.8 I found has poor CA control.

Nikon are putting out poorer - or perhaps its fairer to say, cheaper optics, and trying to correct optical shortcomings in the JPG engine IMHO.

Get the 35mm f/2 - much nicer lens, full frame, smaller, and focuses closer and focuses faster. Just a better lens.
