Centon 500mm Mirror Lens

I'm not much of a photographer.

A Centon mirror lens (not mine) appears to have a problem, but I do not know if it is serious or whether it can be easily fixed.

That ring you see, that shows distance, becomes detached when you turn the lens barrel. So, it looses alignment and of course it should not be detached.

Has anyone had this exact problem with this lens and what was it's cause? Has it been gripped and turned hard, and did that cause the detachment?

It's an old, very poor quality lens. It's just not worth spending any time on at all.

Here showns what the problem is. Right hand picture shows detached ring.

Its basically cosmetic, an indicator, it won't affect the operation of the lens but it may affect your ability to use it depending on how you use it.
