as above, i'm on the lookout for new cf cards. my current cards have a 12mb/s write capacity, but i'm looking to do a bit of sport shooting soon so i'm in need of something a bit zippier, but being that i'll be using a mk2 is it a case of faster the better, or is there an upper limit for clearing the buffer considering the age of the tech inside?

The camera will have a limited write speed. What this actually is I don't know. For my D200 buying anything more than the Sandisk Extreme III is a waste of money as they supercede the write speed of the camera.

As for actual brands, Lexar and Sandisk tend to be most popular.

Fast cards are never a wast of money, go and get a Extreme3 4gb 30mbs for £20 from amazon.

would extreme 3 be the upper limit of the write speed for the 1d 2 then? is it not worth the extra for the extreme 4?

ok, i'm sold on extreme 3's.....the question is wether to go cf or sd...
