CF card format problems.

I have a duracell 16gb 600x card I need to get working again.

My 7d won't reformat it in camera and my disk management section in my computer isn't recognising it either all other cards work fine I genreally use this one as my others are slower

My computer just reads "Connecting to virtual disk service..." Until I unplug the card then everythings as it should be.

I only purchased it a couple of months back from Amazon I don't know how or why the error started :shrug:

Not really helpful for your Duracell card but personally I would always advise buying Sandisk cards as I find they are far more reliable. Since I changed to using only Sandisk about 3 years ago I haven't had a single problem.

+1 for Sandisk, Never had a Sandisk card fail.

I have had a Sandisk fail in an important shoot for a uni crit was not happy at all but still using them and can't fault them apart from that one instance

Do you have the latest firmware, Dayle?

It's 1.2.5 & I read somewhere that it's required for these cards to work properly. Might be worth a check?

Yes the firmware is fine it's 1.2.5, I have contacted the amazon seller and they seem happy to send me a replacement.

I'd still expect my PC to recognise it had been plugged in though
