CF card reader

I have just broken another card reader and looking for one that has a deep socket so the card is guided in better to avoid bending the pins.

Any suggestions?

I have a Sandisk one like this, it has a nice secure slot and positive pin engagement, damn quick too

I use a lexar pro card reader, it has both SD and CF card slots and considering it's a usb2 reader it's still pretty quick because of the udma.

The slots are pretty deep and the guides are perfect which is what you'd expect from a pro class device. It didn't cost that much either.

Brian recommended me this one too, and it has been superb. Well worth the money.

I always buy single card readers. I find they are more robust.

Ive just finished picking the pins out of my CF card, courtesy of an e-Blue card wrecker reader.

Actually thats the new USB 3.0 version the USB 2.0 version is actually slightly cheaper at Amazon

There are a few reviews of the Lexar one on Amazon which say that CF cards other than Lexar, notably Sandisk, either fit badly or not at all. If it was just one person I'd ignore it but it's at least three or four.

Has anybody on here had any problems?

tho on the otherhand ive got two jessops cheapo ones and ive nver damaged them either - the golden rule is if it doesnt go in easily, dont force it.

Sorry only use SD cards in the 60D

Thanks everyone, I found the Lexar one online and it looked the business, you've confirmed it for me.

Maybe I'm too heavy handed with cheap readers, but they break so easily, my last one lasted 11 months which is a record for me but I have been trying to be extra careful.
