Suggestions for high speed transfer card readers for CF cards highly appreciated. :)

Thanks in advance

Kind regards

Sarah

P.S Not Transcend please :) Losing a whole 4gb of images from a faulty CF card has made me lose my confidence in them!

What sort of interface can you use?

For top speed: USB3, SATA, Expresscard, Firewire 800
Medium Speed: Firewire 400
Slow Speed: USB2
Dead Slow: USB1

This was on my Macbook spec:

FireWire Bus:

Maximum Speed: Up to 400 Mb/sec

What about the Lexar Dual card reader  I've one for my CF cards - I got it when I had a D300s (dual cards) so kept it for the CF card... Not had any probs with it - Cheapest I've found is at 7dayshop "7 dayshop Lexar dual card reader £17.49" can be handy as its a 2in 1 (also handy if any family members have a SD card as well as your CF card...)

I have a lexar udma dual card reader, it's pretty quick at transferring 16gb from a sandisk pro card, I'd have preferred a firewire 800 reader but they seemed to be rarer than hens teeth when I was looking.

I ahve an express card slot in my laptop.. with a cf reader in it.. makes the reader part of the laptop so I cant forget it.. and its very fast

Yep thats the chappie but mine has a Lexar PRO 400x 8GB CF card in it

There is a firewire one just came up in the classifieds, would be great for a Mac :)
and for £15 its a steal.
