So have just bought a 7D and looking at getting a CF card for when it arrives. Can anyone recommend any good ones or any which are on sale or any deals.

I will be looking for a 8-16gb and will be using it for filming as well so would want a decent speed one.

How is one like this play.com

Good for the price n speed of it..?

Cheers think i might get that, but if iam going to be filming think i may need a few which will rack up a cost quickly.

Any thoughts on these - here

Came up in a google search about cf cards for the 7d, someone says they are good, but anyone on here used them..?
 
I use Sandisk Extreme in my 7D too and they are spot on, but I would be wary of buying cheep ones - there are some counterfeit ones about.

Sorry which ones, i just posted another, the kingston or sandisk..?

Will most likely get them of play so counterfeits shouldn't be a problem

Yes, i have just been reading through a lot of stuff on google and vimeo about them, some people seem to have no problems with them and others are having buffering problems and other problems.

Think i will have to go with the Sandisk, any good deals about at the moment for them..?
 
Hey mate :)

I had the same card, 16gb which gave me about 524 shots formatted so you should get around 250 from the 8GB. I wouldn't go less than 60mb/s as the 7D can really write files to the card quickly :)

Sorry Tyler - I typed my response in reply to the post before yours. When I checked it, you had posted so I edited my post to clarify. :bonk:

I use Sandisk exclusively.
 
I have about 30 cards of differing types and brands. Almost all of them are cheap - Dane-Elec etc. Some better - Kingston and Trancend for example. And three or four Sandisk. Out of all of them the only one that has given trouble is a new-ish Sandisk. A replacement is on the list of things to do.
