CF Express

Sorry for a dumbass question , but everyday is a school day!
If I update the firmware on my d850 to allow it to use CF express cards , can I still use use XQD as well or will the slot become exclusively CF?

Can't answer the question with authority but I would doubt a firmware upgrade would have such a dramatic effect, if only to prevent any users unwittingly losing the ability to use their cards. The following is an interesting read: https://techgearhead.com/xqd-vs-cfexpress/
