Change 500d exif

I have a Canon 500d but it's the American version so it's branded as the T1i.
This doesn't bother me but does anybody know if I can set it so that the exif displays 500d instead of T1i?

Doubt it,

You may be able to change owner and copyrite data but I have never seen a way of changing the model number.

The only reason I wanted to change it because I've had people look the exif up on my Flickr and ask me what a Canon T1i is.
