Hi all,

I'm looking to move across to Full Frame and therefore have a number of lenses I want to sell and then buy replacements. I don't plan to lose any IQ when it comes to my new lenses, so wondered if you'd mind casting your eye over my new lens list to make sure I haven't made any glaringly poor lens decisions? I have a number of duplicate lenses currently, which I bought deliberately to test the differences in person (rather then reading someone else's reviews); I now intend to move these on and only have one lens in each focal range/certain aperture.

The new setup above is around the same value as the kit I own now and I feel it also offers a superior macro and walkabout lens, with a slight step back in extreme WA (but this is used less then any other lens). Can anyone see any poor choices in the new kit?
 
Do you use the 200mm end of your 70-200 zoom very much? I'm guessing you do, because otherwise you wouldn't have a 200mm prime and an extender. But changing to full frame means you'll lose some reach. OK, with your extender you'll get some of it back, but at the cost of slower autofocus and constant f/5.6. If you want to achieve the same effects you're used to with 200mm and a 1.4x extender, you'd need a 2x extender, but then it's f/8 and manual focus only on a 5D Mk II.

PS I can't help wondering what you expect to gain from the switch. You're concerned to ensure that you don't lose any IQ, but what will you gain?

There are a few things to gain from FF, most important to me is the difference in DOF for portrait work. I find the 200mm too long for my preference and feel the 70-200 does a great job anyway, so it's no longer wanted. I could just stick with my kit and upgrade my Tamron 17-50 to a Canon 17-55, as I would like quicker AF and IS with my walkabout.
 
I'd strongly recommend the Sigma EX 105 over the Canon 100 L- comparable quality but half the price now.
 
I have the Tamron 28-75 as walk about and can't say I miss VC.
 
I've decided just to hold back for now and spend my time working with what I have.

I'm spending between 2-3 hours each day studying photography currently; i.e. looking into different techniques and am going out and shooting a lot more. I'll move a few redundant lenses on and invest in basic studio light equipment as I've been asked to do a few headshots for family and friends. When I start getting more regularly paid work I will re-address if I want to go for full frame, but currently the lenses cover the focal range I need and in the studio the 70-200 f4 is super sharp.
