There was someone on here a little while ago who was successfully using a 150cm Bowens Octa with a 580mk2.

I forget who it was and can't find the thread/author.

Anyone else given it a go. Tempted to give it a go for a job out of the UK where space is going to be a premium on the flight.

you can get the adapters.... but a 150cm octobox? on a speedlight? REALLY?

hire something when you get there...or a quadra or acuteb to take with...

Well I have clipped a white bedsheet to a curtain rod so it covers the entire window, and it gave an area of about 3 meters by 2 meters. Placed an sb900 about a meter from the window outside and the light it produced was like lovely soft window light.

Now granted my subject was only a meter from the window, and it was indoors so I wasn't trying to over power the sun. But I didn't have room for a softbox in there and the quality of light was real nice.

The Bowens 150 is a monster, it has a very heavy metal support for the middle, you would be better off with a Westcott Apollo 50 for portability.

If you are set on the Bowens 150 you can buy a speedlight to s type adaptor and fit that inside the octo, loads of them on ebay.
