Charging Metz NiCads...

..how do you know when they are fully charged?
I'm just charging my NiCad pack on my 45-CL4 and wondering how long it will take and does the light go out/change colour when it's full?

Reason I ask is my first one came fully charged - that recently broke and its replacement came fully charged as well.

All I see is a light on the base of the battery pack and I don't know how long to charge it for. I don't know if it changes colour or not or goes out etc. My old 45-CT1 was a normal battery job.

sorry - the light gets brighter or dimmer - i cant remember - but it does change

3-4 hours seems to be enough

Didn't want to overcharge it.
Also do you have to let it fully run down or can it be charged up as and when needed?

nicads are better only charged when flat - that's what i understand anyway

Ideally run them right out at least every few charges, I just rig up a torch bulb to them. Wayne
