Charging when tethered.

I have a 1000d and only ever use it tethered on a tripod indoors. The bane of my life is having to take it off the tripod and loosen the tripod mount to change the battery. It may seem a simple thing but for me its a bloody nuisance. Has anyone any idea of whether you can buy or cobble together a bit of kit that will keep the battery charged whilst tethered.

What a bummer that Canon didn't make it charge on the USB connection.:thumbsdown:

The battery eliminators will be fine as they will provide the right voltage. I was referring to powering the camera directly via the USB tethering lead.
 
I found the bit in the manual that shows you can actually use the camera connected via mains. Had I known that a year ago I would have bought the kit straight away!
Never thought to look...
