Not sure if this is the right section or not but a friend of mine is looking for someone who fancies doing on site photos/printing at a masquerade ball in aid of Save the Children on the 25th of Feb at the Isla Gladstone Glasshouse in Stanley Park Liverpool. It's looking like it'll be a good night with a lot of people making a lot of effort with costumes and stuff plus there's stilt walkers and fire eaters etc. Obviously she's looking for someone who will feed a decent amount back into the charity as that's the whole point of the event so it might suit someone wanting to build their portfolio up or get a little experience. Any thoughts gents?

I'm out that night already so I can't do it but if you are wanting Printing on site that is something that someone wanting to build up their portfolio / get a little experience is unlikely to be able to offer as the kit required for it. Someone who is just starting out may offer a high %age of profits but the costs of renting a Dye Sub will eat into the profits and the charity may end up getting nothing and the photographer out of pocket. A Professional Event Photographer will have the workflow and setup required to bring in more money to the charity than someone who doesn't know what they are doing even with a differential in %ages.

If I were available I would be looking at free attendance and providing a commission of 10% on all sales if the number of guests are over 100.

A few people you might want to PM directly are: LittleJohn, rainhill_photo and Photo_Talk, these guys I know have the kit already and should do a great job.

Thanks for that Simon, what sort of cost/size are your prints out of interest?
