I would really like to get my 28mm FD lens (as it's sharp as hell) onto my 40d, but all the adaptors I've seen are megabucks!

Cheap, cheerful, stops dust getting in, with the ability to focus to infinity... Does that exist?

Looking at max £10.
 
The simple answer is NO. Years back, Canon made one to cover the changeover period and it seems to have performed quite well....rocking horse droppings today though.

The available versions now are either glassless (retain your desired sharpness but lose infinity focus) or glassed ones that retain the focus range but noble the sharpness).

If someone finally puts effort into producing a glassed one that performs well (and expect to pay for the priveledge) then you'll see the price of the top end FD lenses take a considerable leap.
