Hi,

do know where this should go but my domain name at 123reg has expired and I am looking for an alternative that is cheaper(tried renewing an the total comes to £7.18 for two years). I tried renewing my domain but cannot find an option to pay via paypal. thanks.

also if theres a a domain+hosting deal that would be great.

I recently moved to justhost.com who accept paypal,

Their deal looked good, "£1.99/month, free domain, no hidden costs", so I went through the motions, chose my domain name and clicked "next"... "Total Today: £124.95".

Cyberspace is a confusing place.

How much cheaper than 1p a day are you looking for?

Cyberspace is a confusing place.

I got it down to just under £88 for 60 months by looking carefully at the front page and following links and unticking some boxes on the address page for things I would not have needed

I see, thanks.

I did notice that once you start the ball rolling, if you try and leave the page, you get prompted by a message offering you 25% off, and if you accept and try to exit again, you're offered 50% off...

Felt like Dickinson's Real Deal.

UK Superweb. Based in England, with an 0800 support number with a real human on the end of it. I have two domains with them, and would recommend them to anyone.

Your looking for cheaper than £3.59 a year? Seriously? Look down the back of yer setee you will probably find enoug to renew it for a few years :)

I have heard of bargain hunting but sheesh :)

Sorry, have I read that right, £7.18 is too expensive for 2 years? isn't that the price of a couple of pints in London...........:)

Yes whilst we are it , anyone know where I can buy a 5d for under £50?

:p

No problem, 5d mk II, £50, no hidden charges.

My name's Anna, don't leave! 25% off...

My name's Helga, don't leave, 50% off...

Total today: £2,000.

:bonk:

Not sure if this is sarcasm, but .co.cc have just been completely de-indexed by google and it would be killing your site to have a .co.cc domain.

I hadn't heard that, shame really. A good tool but it's exploited by all the wrong people. Even so, i'm not sure how many people reach a photography site through google, a lot of it would be through passing links around on forums like this.

?

There is only one choice, Vidahost not the cheapest at £17 a year for hosting with a free domin but excellent customer support, fantastic service, I have been using them for years and have now lost count of the number of domains I have with them.

the op is trying to get out of paying £7 per 2 years.. how is £17 per year a good answer?

I may have got this wrong, but I don't think that is what the OP is saying. They were not able to renew at that price because they could not see the renewal page/link on the site.

I use

http://www.mrsite.com/

It's about £30 a year, quite a few templates and designs, I made a simple photography site here

£17 a year is with hosting too as the op sad he wants domain+hosting ideas

I don't have any suggestions, but I have to say £7.18 for 2 years sounds really cheap, even the £17 a year sounds good.

123-reg is who I use for multiple domains and find the control panel one of the easiest out there. £7.18 is nothing and if you go elsewhere I doubt you will get the same, I tried 1and1 and it's a nightmare for the one domain I put there :(

As above, I found 1&1 to be a nightmare when I used them.

I would advise against bundled hosting and domains as it is harder to move your site if you have any problems.

For domains I have been using Domain monster for the past few years, they are ICANN accredited rather than just a reseller like a lot of the companies out there. They don't charge you to move/administer your domain.

£7.18 is the going rate for a domain, anything lower will be tying you in to something else more expensive.
