Cheap Ebay Cokin type filters

Has anyone tried any of the cheap Cokin P type generic filters available from Ebay? Looking at the set of 3 ND filters for only about £6 delivered. I realise they aren't going to be as good as Cokin or Kood but are they acceptable or poor quality, best avoided?

If image quality is very important to you then I would suggest saving for a better system. I used mine a couple of times and hated the results.

I personally wouldn't bother but that's me. It's attached to the most important part of the camera so if it's not great quality, it's what's between your sensor and subject. On the other hand, I still think you've got to draw the line somewhere. I probably wouldn't go as far as Lee filters just yet, but top out at B+W or a Heliopan.

they can have a colour cast, and no coatings mean reflectorama lens flare etc
