Cheap magnifiers

Hi, has anybody had experience with buying cheap magnifiers from eBay for use in regard to macro work. Saving hard for a proper Lens but thought will I wait these might help out. Can't get the link but there are four magnifiers ranging in sizes and they simply screw to the lens. Any ideas?
