will it serve me a days use and give me an idea if i need a mono pod??? i dont want to spend much on one incase i dont get on with it, also i can pick it up today in wimbledon.

cheers

Spend a bit more and get something better.

I had a velbon UP-4000 look on amazon, not massivley expenive but was a good monopod... bit flimsy but did teh job, Manfrotto 679B which I have now is really good and can be had for about 30-35 quid

Spend £40 or so and get something like a Manfrotto 680. Those Jessops monopods are cheaply-made and the plastic heads are just rubbish.

Having said that, unless you have a lens with a heavy (and I mean really heavy) lens,I can't see why you'd need one, especially with a body that has built in IS...

really good news, sod the mono then, ill see how i get on tomorrow.

cheers people

Would probably manage without, especially for motorbikes.

Having said that, they are useful and worth getting one - keep your eye open in the for sale section - or even in the magazine subscriptions as they may offer a "free" one
