cheap ND filters

There are loads on ebay, at sensible prices which I am considering, especially as in reality I dont think I will give them much use.

Rather than the "buy branded" brigade, has anyone got practical experience of these cheaper filters, am I really going to notice any difference between these and the mega expensive ones?

Oh and same question for circular polarisers...

have only used my cheap Kood ND's and ND-grad's a couple of times and haven't noticed any problems with them, I think my photography would have to come on a long way before I could justify spending a fortune on Lee filters.

Plus I much prefer bracketing and a bit of HDR'ing for landscape - much less faff (out in the field)!

I bought some really cheap ones from China via the bay (£10.00), and they slot into a Cokin P adapter quite nicely. In fact, I think they supplied a cheap adapter free!

Only used the grad so far. Results? Not bad really, and a great starting point:

They look good to me, any chance of a link to the ones you bought?

would be interesting to see the same scene with & without filters at 100% crop to see how much (if any) of a quality impact there is.

I bought cheap ones of e-bay.Screw in type that came in packs of 3 nd2,nd4,nd8 and think they are fine.

I'm afraid I can't help with the same scene compared with and without filter query, but here's some 100% crops, first two from the sides. Default RAW sharpening settings (i.e. very little) and saved down to JPG. Bear in mind this was shot on a full frame 5D and with a Carl Zeiss Distagon 28/2.8 @ f8. All crops will be in areas where the filter was darker.
