Yes
I am looking for a Nikon with more fps than my D60 but on a budget so most likely used. I am not to bothered about high resolutions but would like still good quality images and probably 5fps or more. What would you recommend I look at and what would you think is the minimum I should spend to get what I am after? Is there anything I should avoid?

Thanks :)

D200 has 5fps, D300 has 6fps, 8 once you've added a battery grip and use AA batteries or a D3 battery. Or, you can pick up D2x(s) bodies kinda cheaply...but for the money the D300 would probably be the better bet.

The D300 (soon and rapidly being replaced although still available in some shops) can be boosted up to around 7/8 FPS with the additional battery pack attached. As for being on a budget the more features a camera has the more expensive they become, of course there is always the option of second hand.
I was in Currys the other day and they were selling the D300 for about £850+ to clear stocks I should think.
The other thought is to possibly change makes depending on what else you have in the way of lenses etc, but this could prove more expensive.

Others may disagree, but I maintain that the best option initially is to buy the most expensive camera you can afford in the first place and a bit more, then the need to upgrade (as I have found to my cost ) isn't necessary. Others would advocate getting the best lens one can afford, but modern Nikon lenses will fit any digital camera and can be purchased at a later date.

I really like to look of the D300. As well as 8fps it looks to have great low ISO performance. The only down side is it is probably going to be pushing my funds a little to far. But then saying that if there being fazed out I would guess they will becoming a little cheaper soon. I would love one of the D2 range though they tend to be well warn out. There was a great one PPP just sold but sadly I was beaten to it. I may just have to save up by the looks of things.

I think they are at their lowest right now if you can still find them new for sale. As I said I saw them for sale in Currys a short time ago but my guess is they will be snapped up at that price as they normally sell for around £1100. If that is what your considering I would go that extra little bit for one

Get a used D300 ! Whats cheap? Its great working. The D300s is only a little bit better. But I love the D60 also: smaller - low weight - I love it in combination with low weight lenses.
D300 takes also MF lenses and old AF lenses and DX - a lot of possibilities from VIVITAR to .... Nikon 35/1.8 DX

D300 and an ebay grip (I'm really amazed at the quality of these...) and 16 (8 + spare set) eneloops will doubtless be your way to go if you can stretch to it - 8fps :) works a treat.

Does this have the same effect on a D90 do you know?
