Hi everyone
My mum's looking for a cheap P&S camera for my dad for his Christmas. He's not the best with technology so want something quite simple to use etc and ideally with re-chargeable lithium battery (personal preference) and she'd also like it if it could record short video clips too. Her budget is up to £100.

I bought my daughter a Canon a470 a few months back for about £70. Excellent image quality for such a cheap P&S. The only criticism is that it eats batteries.
I dont think you can get the a470 any more, but the a480 is available from Argos for £99.99 - not sure what the battery situation is like. Reviews should be aplenty and you should be able to get some idea from them.
