Ok - I have a Nikon D810 and my passion is wildlife photography.

I would like a cheap wide angle lens for the rare occasions that I am out after critters and I come across a nice sunrise / set.

I do not want to spend a lot of money as it will not get the use to justify it, but I would like to get the most possible from the D810 full frame sensor.

So - has anyone any recommendations for a lens that will suit what I need?

Now - I am open to manual focus, old but good quality and even having to buy a cheap converter to fit it to the camera - the converter will just stay on the lens.

that's what I use, Dave, had the Nikon MF "wides" for years ........ but I don't take proper landscapes ...... in fact I prefer to compress them with a "long" lens

F mount so fits straight onto the camera body ....... but I always check with the Nikon compatibility chart, (on the web)
