Suggestions for places to look to upgrade my DDR2 ram please:)

NOT overclockers. they're postage charge is astronomical and there's dodgy things going on with their sale at the moment :lol:
 
I found Crucial were the cheapest when I upgraded my Mac to 4GB, always worth a try.
 
I've been looking myself, ram seems to have shot up in price this last year! but so far Play.com seem to have good prices and good brands.

/edit, I've used Corsair ram in the last two machines I've built, no problems.
 
Yeah I got it direct from the Crucial UK site, very quick delivery and great service when I ordered 8GB in error. They actually called me to see if I wanted the 8GB (i wouldn't have noticed until it got delivered otherwise)
 
I used the crucial scanner to see what i needed then checked everywhere for the best deal.

Turned out to be crucial.

:plusone: Always found them very good. Hassle free returns/warranty too. Go direct to their website.
 
Last time I checked, play.com were very competitive dunno if they still are.

Maybe worth a check ;)
 
scan.co.uk? corsairs XMS is pretty reasonable price at the moment..

i got my last lot of memory (geil black dragon 2x 4gb) from an ebay retailer as it was cheaper..

edit - oh you want 1066, not sure they do the XMS in that.

edit 2 - yes they do.. how much do you want?

What is classed as a 'regular' member?

Cheapest i have found so far is amazon! (for 4gb 1066)
 
a regular member was/is about 100-150 posts, it may have changed, i havent been on the forums there since a month or so before xmas.
not sure what postal problems you have had with them but we just ordered £800 worth of goodies from overclockers for a clients pc build this week and was delivered in 2 days, even in the snow! :)

check all the sites regularly though, every week it changes as to who is the cheapest for which item.

Have to add another +1 for Ebuyer.
Used them regularly for years-never had a problem and prices very competitive.
On a related note,(You probably aware anyway...but just in case..)
Check mobo for max supported ram if you thinking of buying large modules,and also bear in mind that if using a 32 bit operating system you wont be able to utilise huge amounts. (4GB max iirc).
Due to the fact that the memory adresses over 4gb are larger than 32 bits.
 
Jason, thankyou. I was aware of the max of a 32bit OS. I have W7 64 waiting to be installed when i have finished all my assignments :)

I never thought of max supported though!

I've brought all my stuff from overclockers and found them very helpful and good on price.
It did help that they were local to me aswell :)

I've bought shedloads of PC components and without a doubt EBuyer and Scan are top dogs...by a mile!

The only thing I would say.... for single small items Scans P&P charges can be a tad high (about £4 for a stick of Ram). Its a good service though EBuyer has a slower free delivery service.
 
I've been building pc's since 1998 and the only ram that's never let me down is Crucial...now Geil that's another story.

If you go to your MB's support site they'll list all the ram that is compatible and will save you some heartache probably
