Cheshire landscape

I would really welcome any tips on how i should have taken this picture, i really don't have much of a clue when it comes to getting the best out of my landscape shots.

That picture is 800 pixels so it could be shown in the thread - just edit url in the tags to be img and it will show.

It looks like you got the exposure about right. the subject is all a bit central and appears to be a not that interesting pond. getting down lower and nearer to the pond might have given something more interesting for the foreground and made more of the cloud reflections. the horizon would look better on a third. A couple of steps to the left would have got the clump of reeds on another third as they seem to be the best subject.

The light has a flat middle of the day look so it might look better there earlier or later. Light and composition are what you need
