Do you mean the shallow DoF? Opening the aperture as wide as possible will do that. Looking at the EXIF you have the option of going wider if you like, but I think you have a good balance here.
What type of chilli? This year i've grown some medusa and numex twilight to look at, and jalapenos, scotch bonnets, and chocolate habaneros for some serious heat.
Didnt occur to me to take some snaps until recently, most of them have finished now though.
Anyway, as stated above, opening the aperture will increase the blurred background effect. It is called depth of field, and is affected by aperture and distance from subject.
