Was down in Oxfordshire on Saturday so thought I ought to make the extra effort to travel to the Chilterns (nr Stokenchurch) to see if there were any red kites around in the sunshine.

Such fabulous birds to watch and listen to, with their almost sorrowful calls.

Taken hand-held with a Canon 50D and a 100-400mm lens.

Nice shots, that area has to be about the best for Kite shots, dare I say even better than Gigrin Farm and the birds dont have wing tags which looks more natural

I prefer it to Gigrin - it's actually easier to get shots IMO, as there are fewer birds to keep a track of... and yes, not many of the birds have those horrid wing tags on too.

A great set of images there DP and as mentioned a good sky to set them off(y) What kind of height were they at roughly?
