Chinese New Year advice

Hello all.

Been invited down to Chinatown for the New Years celebrations. I don't have much kit as I'm a newbie, but I have a 20D, Nifty Fifty and a Sigma 18-200.

Which would be the best lens to leave on the body? I'll not be in the thick of it, but I will be close to the action.

hi nick,ive not shot the chinese new year before,but i would say your 18-200 would give you good range to cover most situations,and a fifty might be somewhat restricting...why not take both as the fifty would easily fit in a pocket..just in case

I was thinking that Stan. Seems the Sigma will be the way forward! Maybe the fifty if I get any closer for some candids
