Choice of 3 lenses

I am getting my old kit setup again which includes a Nikon D300, looking for a zoom lens for action shots of dogs, wildlife and cycling sports so looking at 2 different lenses

They are a sigma 100-300mm f/4 ex apo if dg hsm or a 70-200mm F2.8 EX APO DG Macro HSM II
 
forgot the other option Nikon AF 300mm f/4 ED
Can't help with the first two as I've not really used them. If the Nikon 300 f4 is the AFD version then the AF isn't very quick, it isn't slow as such, just not quick. The AFS version seems to AF quicker form the little use I've had with them. IQ wise they are very nice. Not tried the latest version.

ETA: by not quick, I'd be concerned using it on erratic moving targets, the later AFS version is better imo.
