In this part of Europe, these "monsters" were created to scare away the
forest monsters that scared the kids in the early dark hours of winter. Of
course, they had to be scarier than the scariest imagined monsters they
were meant to scare off… does that make any sense? I realize how dif-
ficult it is to translate from French! So much for the good "bad guys"!

Santa is not known in the tradition but a bishop named St-Nikolas.

as they are all sharp and with lots details, I suspect you're on the
