Hi everyone a while back I bought a Hoya CPL HD filter and I love it but now I want to get an ND filter for longer exposures, bluring water etc, I'm thinking seconds rather than minuses. Any advice? I have 72mm front thread and not sure if they do exist or not but I don't seam to get much joy out of searching the World Wide Web. Or should I get a cokin p kit? And what kind of ND strength would I need?
 
A slot-in kit makes sense if you plan to move onto grad filters. If not, a screw-in type might be less bulky.

Not sure why you're having problems finding any on the web - I just googled "Hoya HD ND 72mm" and it brought up loads, including Amazon and Jessops.

The density of the filter depends on the shutter speed you want, the speed of the water, the ambient light level and the other camera settings.

But either way it's an extreme ND you want, like 8/9/10/11 stops, then adapt other settings suit the situation, as best you can.
 
the one i just got was a load of rubbish, have got a dedicated 10 stop which is much better :)

Not really, especially if you like wide-angle lenses - you get a dark cross right over the whole image with wider lenses at higher densities, and they can affect sharpness/flare too.
